Save the Boats Sticker

The Save the Boats sticker introduces a fearless defender of the coastline: a man in an England shirt, inflatable armbands and binoculars, apparently ready to defeat immigration by shouting at a boat. His heroic staging area? A bathtub. The joke rather writes itself.

This is Rotten Reformers at its most absurd. The character takes all the loudest talking points about borders and turns them into an everyday scene so small and silly that the gap between posturing and actually helping people is impossible to miss. He is determined to be seen defending the nation; understanding the people at sea seems much lower down his list.

The design targets performative patriotism and anti-refugee fearmongering, not the people who need sanctuary. Britain has a proud tradition of maritime rescue, and the difference between helping a boat in trouble and yelling at it from shore is the point of the satire. You can believe in sensible public debate without pretending vulnerability is a threat.

Visually, it is a colourful character-led cartoon: a flag-themed outfit, binoculars and deliberately ridiculous water-safety gear. It works as an instantly recognisable anti-racism conversation starter, even when someone does not know the wider Rotten Reformers series.

What makes this design different?

• A specific visual joke about boats, borders and performative patriotism, not just a slogan.
• A refugee-welcome message delivered through character illustration and British satire.
• A sharp gift for somebody who prefers compassion and common sense to culture-war shouting.
